6th package of European sanctions against Russia

The war between Russia and Ukraine shows no sign of coming to an end and the European Union has taken steps to endorse the 6th package of economic sanctions against Russia, which entered into force on 4 June.

There are many Regulations that the Council of the European Union has issued to curb the conflict situation, but the following two Regulations are of particular interest in the commercial and customs fields, of which we will briefly summarize the main aspects:

The EU Reg. No. 879/2022 (see attachment) states:

- the embargo of crude oil and some petroleum products from Russia to the EU;

- the expansion of the list of goods and technologies subject to import restrictions from Russia referred to in Annex XXI of art. 3 decies of Reg. N. 833/2014;

- the extension of Annex VII of EU Reg. no. 833/2014 relating to dual use goods subject to export restrictions to Russia

2022-06-06 REGULATION (EU) 2022 879

The EU Reg. No. 870/2022 (see attachment) states:

- measures for the temporary liberalization of trade with Ukraine, introducing certain preferential regimes governed by art. 1 and following.

2022-06-06 REGULATION (EU) 2022 870 of 30 May 2022

Furthermore, it is advisable to check whether your commercial traffic involves certain Russian or Belarusian personalities, as the black lists of natural and legal persons of these countries have been extended.
