Egypt New Aci System

We inform you that with Law 207/2020 the Egyptian Government has established the ACI - Advanced Cargo Information, the new customs system that will come into force from 1 October 2021.

And which aims to:

  • Increase the safety of Egyptian citizens by safeguarding them from unidentified goods or goods of unknown origin;
  • Reduce the time of release of the goods and the related costs;
  • Reduce paper documents in favor of electronic ones.

Here's what the procedure involves:

  • Each Egyptian importer must register on the portal www.nafeza.gov.eg by sending the data and documentation of the cargo to acquire a unique identification code, called ACID (Advance Cargo Information Declaration) which must be communicated to the exporter. This must be done before the import operations.
  • The exporter is required to include the ACID on the invoice and report it on other export documents. In the absence of this number, the goods will not be unloaded and will return to the port of embarkation.
  • The exporter is required to upload all documents on the CargoX platform (accessible here), at least 48 hours before the departure of the goods from the exporting country. The platform uses blockchain technology and for this reason allows data storage in total security.
